ZIND POLICIES

Policy & Waiver

ATTENDANCE: Attendance (ON TIME) is MANDATORY. Students are expected to arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of class to properly stretch, change if necessary and start immediately at the scheduled time. Good attendance is imperative. Absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class and the instructor will not slow the pace of their class. If a student's absence becomes an on-going issue, then a meeting will be scheduled to discuss appropriate options and he/she/they may not be allowed to participate in our performances. Students should avoid missing consecutive classes. Any student that is late to class may be asked to sit and watch. Prompt arrival time ensures that your dancer receives full instruction. Parents/Students should contact the studio via email/phone at least 3 hours ahead of the scheduled class time if a student will be late or absent.

CLASS OBSERVATION: Parents/Friends/Family Members are NOT allowed to observe class from inside the studio where the actual session is taking place without the permission of the instructor. This rule is in place so students' training and classes go uninterrupted. Only instructors and students should be in the class space during class time. Video for practice purposes can be taken at the end of class if the instructor allows. Siblings not participating in a dance class must be accompanied by a parent at all times and are not allowed to run or play in any area of the studio. Parents must supervise all accompanying siblings in waiting areas. Children cannot be left unattended.   

PAYMENT: Automatic Payments are set up for students for tuition and other charges relevant to the studio (costume rental fees, private lessons, etc). We charge an additional $25 in any circumstance when your bank does not honor your payment. Students WILL NOT be allowed to participate in any event if the payments are not up to date. Payments will take place by the 1st of the month. There are no refunds for payment for any reason. Payment is the same each month, including those shortened by holidays/closures/cancellations. There are no exceptions, including student absences or weather days. Receipts of all payments will be provided and kept on file which all families have access to. If a class is cancelled due to the sickness of the teacher, a health epidemic or any other seen or unforeseen event, the school will endeavor to reschedule the class. This may be on a different day or a different time or both from when the class was originally scheduled, and might involve an extension to the term time dates. No refunds will be given in this case.

BILLING MODIFICATION: If a student wishes to pause a monthly payment, cancel membership or request any variation in billing, then they must do so using the google form provided (See below. This form can be found on the ZIND student members page or in monthly emails).

Costume Fees: Costume Fees are charged on an annual or semester basis and can range from $45 - $100 per student. Students are responsible for ordering any basic items (leggings, cami's, any performance specific jewelry etc.) If any costume/jewelry/apparel is rented out and not returned in the same condition (or not returned), the student is responsible for paying a damage fee of $50.00.The payer will receive both verbal and written notice if payment has not been received in accordance with these terms and conditions. The school reserves the right to charge a late payment fee if necessary

PERFORMANCES/EVENTS: Music, choreography, costume & routines are at the discretion of the respective instructor for each class, unless otherwise decided by the leadership board. Director, Nina Kottakuzhiyil, has full and final approval on all costumes, music, choreography and all other decisions relevant to an event.

CODE OF CONDUCT: Students, parents and instructors will dress and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner while at ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.) and during all performances, competitions, and events in which the studio is being represented. Here at ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.), we promote all dancers to treat each other with respect, support and encouragement. Any questions/concerns should be discussed when it does not interfere with class time.

DANCE CLASS ATTIRE: All students need to wear proper dance attire to class. Under no circumstances may a student wear jeans to class. Proper dance attire is MANDATORY for safety and the overall well-being of the student’s dance education. What qualifies as proper attire may vary from class to class and each instructor will clarify this at the beginning of every semester.Please keep jewelry to a minimum. An instructor reserves the right to dismiss a student from class after one warning. Please respect our policy, it is to benefit the students and allow them to become the dancer they desire to be. Instructors reserve the right to dismiss any dancer from class whose attire is unsatisfactory.

CLASSES: The school reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. Refunds or credits will not be given due to a change in class instructor. Teachers are responsible for students during class time only. Parents must arrange to have their child picked up promptly at the end of the scheduled class. All forms (electronic) MUST be submitted prior to the first official class. Students are not allowed to participate in any class/event/performance without all documents and information submitted. Students should bring water bottles to stay hydrated during classes. There is to be no gum/food/snacks by students during an ongoing class. Please use washrooms before class. The school reserves the right to post pictures/videos of classes/students/events wherever and whenever ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.) is represented.

SNOW OR BAD WEATHER: ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.) generally follows the school closings. We will promptly send notification of any variation in class schedules due to inclement weather. 

HOLIDAYS: Holiday dates will be posted and will be given to your child prior to holiday periods included in email reminders. Other cancellations due to competitions or other out of town events will also be posted in advance and stated in emails and messages.

I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF PARTICIPATING, EMPLOYING AND/OR VOLUNTEERING IN ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.), including but not limited to any risks that may arise from negligence or injury on the part of the persons or entities being released, from class sessions, participation in performance and events, dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault. The accident waiver and release of liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law.

I certify that I am physically fit, and have not been advised to not participate by a qualified medical professional. I certify that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude my participation in this dance studio.

I acknowledge that the staff of ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.)with whom I may participate will use this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at all practices, sessions, performances and/or events relevant to ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.).

I acknowledge that the ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.) and its directors, officers, volunteers, representatives, and agents are NOT responsible for errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or entity conducting a specific event or activity on behalf of the ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.).

I acknowledge that this activity or event may involve a test of a person’s physical limits and may carry with it the potential for serious injury, and property loss. The risks may include, but are not limited to, those caused by facilities, temperature, weather, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people, including, but not limited to, staff, students/participants, volunteers, spectators, instructors, event officials, and event monitors, and/or producers of the event, and lack of hydration. These risks are not only inherent to participants, but are also present for staff/volunteers.

I hereby consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during my time as a student/employee of ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.).

I understand that during practices, events and performances, I may be photographed. I agree to allow my photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the business, staff/employees, and students of ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.).

I have received the company's policies and will take the responsibility to carefully read and follow the rules and policies therein. I understand that ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.) does not give credit and/or refunds for class(es) missed due to holiday, vacation, illness, weather, etc. I further understand that there are specific risks of physical or property damages, losses, or injury that may result from my or my child’s participation with ZIND Performing Academy (also known as Ninakshi LLC.), and I voluntarily assume the risks associated with such participation. 

I recognize that the program may involve strenuous physical activity including, but not limited to, muscle strength and endurance training, cardiovascular conditioning and training, and other various fitness activities.

Electronic Signature Agreement. By selecting the "I Accept" checkbox, I am signing this agreement electronically. I agree this electronic signature is the legal equivalent of my manual signature on this agreement.
