Real To Reel With Bollywood Dance
Jan 22, 2024
Creating a dance routine that transitions from "reel to real" involves a significant amount of effort and practice. What you see on Instagram is often a polished and edited version of the final performance. Dancers typically spend hours refining their moves, working on coordination, and perfecting the overall routine. Behind the scenes, there's a creative process that includes choreography, music selection, and costume planning.
Dancers start by conceptualizing the theme, style, or mood of their routine. Choreography is then developed, involving the creation of specific dance moves and sequences that fit the chosen theme. Dancers often select songs that complement their choreography and enhance the overall performance. Dancers spend a significant amount of time rehearsing and practicing the routine. This includes refining individual moves, working on transitions, and ensuring synchronization with the music. Dancers pay attention to their appearance, choosing costumes that complement the routine. Presentation, facial expressions, and stage presence are also important.
The beauty of recording videos is that you can film as many times as you need. However, the perfectionist side of a dancer comes out, wanting to get every step, hand gesture, side eye, and angle close to perfection as possible. I mean, why not right?
It's important to recognize the dedication and hard work that dancers put into bringing their performances to life. The transition from capturing moments on video (reel) to performing in real life requires skill, stamina, and attention to detail. Social media platforms like Instagram offer a glimpse into these performances, but they may not fully convey the effort and commitment involved in the entire dance routine.
If you're interested in dancing for the first time or getting back into dance, remember that practice and persistence are key. The journey from conceptualizing a routine to presenting it in real life is a rewarding experience that showcases both talent and passion. We have weekly classes for ages 5 years all the way to adults. The first class is a free trial so all you have to worry about is having fun.
