From Dance Students To Dance Instructors
Dec 21, 2023
There were so many milestones in our ZIND journey. From the time of conception to where we are now, seeing and teaching countless of students, hundreds of performances and heart filled community. But there are moments that really stick out—a dance of generations that warms that brings a profound sense of fulfillment. This past semester, I experienced such a moment when two familiar faces returned not as students but as instructors, completing a circle that began years ago on our very stage. I was smiling ear to ear when the applications came through. Two familiar names, were seeking to join the ranks of our ZIND instructors. These were not just any applicants; they were former students who, years ago, graced our stage as high school dancers. Today, they stand not as students but as teachers, guiding a new generation of dancers towards the spotlight. This journey from students to instructors has been nothing short of a heartwarming full circle.
As high school students, these two girls lit up our studio with their passion for dance. Their passion for dance was evident from the start, and they soon became integral parts of our close-knit community. Memorable performances marked their time with us and little did we know, these seeds planted in our studio would blossom into something extraordinary years later.
Life took them to college, where they continued to dance. Joining dance teams during their college years, they honed their skills, expanded their horizons, and carried the spirit of our studio with them. Their college adventures were a testament to the continuous love for dance.
The day their applications arrived was a moment of pure joy. The realization that two of our own were eager to return, not as students but as instructors, filled me with pride. They were walking through our doors not as students, but as potential mentors. They were once dancing on stages as students and today, they have their own students to send on stages.
They embraced the challenges and responsibilities that came with the role, drawing on their own experiences as students to shape the next generation of dancers. The transition from students to instructors is not an easy one. Their journey reflects not only their growth but also the resilience and passion that define our dance community.
For me, as the studio owner, this was a full-circle moment beyond compare. Witnessing both of them evolve from high school performers to college dancers and finally into instructors was a source of immense pride. It symbolized not just their growth but the impactful legacy of ZIND. It's a testament to the enduring spirit of our dance studio and the bond that ties us all together. These instructors aren't just passing on dance techniques; they are passing on a legacy of dedication, love, and the joy of dancing.
As I watch their classes perform, I am filled with gratitude. Grateful for the dedication of these two remarkable ladies who chose to come back, share their talents, and contribute to their childhood dance studio. This is more than a story of students becoming instructors; it's a story of the enduring power of dance to connect us across time, and the joy that comes from watching our students become our teachers.
